Aural Psynapse

deadmau5′ latest tune is truly an amazing one that I’ve gladly stuck on repeat. A lot of you have been waiting for it and it’s now been officially released! It’s a remake of the original that was released back in 2005 and it certainly resonates that era of his music – the trancier deadmau5 that I first heard and fell in love with way back then.

deadmau5 – Aural Psynapse (Original Mix) √++

Also, just cause I love the piano, I thought I’d share an impressive cover of this song

I have so many new tracks that I want to post for everyone to hear but just haven’t found the time lately – be sure to check out the Facebook page for daily updates.

Taste The Rainbow

What a great week for new music! I’ve come across a slew of stellar tracks that should bring dubPhonics back to speed. As you may have notice, I’ve been a bit behind here, just nothing new/unique has really presented itself lately.

Jakwob’s latest brings together hip-hop and dubstep, a great change up from his typical style.

Jakwob – Right Beside You √+

Upcoming artist of the year? I’ve heard that stated a few times on the interwebs about Mord Fustang. He’s is certainly making a good name for himself! Dance enticing heavy electro, splash of wobble.

Mord Fustang – Lick The Rainbow (Original Mix)

Mord Fustang – The Electric Dream (Original Mix) √+

Mord Fustang – Super Meat Freeze (Original Mix) √++

I’ve never gotten into Basshunter (a little too Euro for me), BUT Fonzerelli kills it in this remix! I’m loving this track! As a bonus, I thought Bob Sinclair’s lively nu-disco bomb would fit well alongside it. Thanks NaveeDJ for sharing these two, certainly bringin’ in the always appreciated funk!

Basshunter – All I Ever Wanted (Fonzerelli Remix) √+

Bob Sinclair – Fuck The Disco (Original Mix)

YES, YES, YES! Feed Me rocks the effin’ sh*t out of this track! My girlfriend walked in on me playing this and I had to quickly turn on some porn to ease the tension – it’s that dirtyyy.

Nero – Innocence (Feed Me Remix) √++

I dunno if you’ve heard or care (you should) but Skrillex had his laptops and external hard drives stolen out of his hotel room a few weeks back. ALL of his upcoming work towards releasing his next full length album is lost… sigh.

Deadmau5 – Pixel Cheese (Skrillex Remix)

A Swedish House Mafia track featuring John Martin of Miike Snow? Believe it!

Swedish House Mafia – Save The World (ft. John Martin) (Original Mix)

There’s always room for some D’n’B. This one steps on the gas a bit.

Futurebound vs. Metrik – Brave New World (Original Mix)

I’m incredibly happy with ATB’s latest 2 CD release – full of potential hit singles as well as a much calmer second CD that underlines the artistic complexity of the group. Enjoy!

ATB – Distant Earth (Full CD) [246 MB] <3 <3 <3

Another CD I’ve lined up for you is George Acosta’s “Visions Behind Expressions”. I was curious (around this time last year, after publishing this post) when this was gonna be officially released. I found it by surprise the other, really liking it too!

George Acosta – Visions Behind Expressions (Full CD) [173 MB] √+

You can bet your firstborn that I’ll be posting up on Feed Me’s upcoming album, “Feed Me To the Stars”! It sounds incredible so far! The ending of “To the Stars” is crazy – although it is cutoff. Be sure to listen all the way till the end, or skip to it! Check out their preview mix on their soundcloud:

The Big 100

So it’s the 100th post on dubPhonics! I thought I’d make this one chock-full of BIG tunes and conclude it with some after hours tracks.

Welcome to the party! Here’s some rave cake to celebrate! This one blows the roof off; brings the walls down! (PS: he’s not really talking about cakes D:)

• Uppermost – Cake Shop Is Dope (Original Mix)

• Uppermost – Cake Chop is Dope (2nd Edit) √+ (Heavier = Better)

But seriously, this lively Sigma remix of Danny Byrd, two contenders in the Drum & Bass ring, will likely bring an uplift to your day / keep our party here alive. Great bass line on this one!

• Danny Byrd – We Can Have It All (Sigma Remix)

Unicorn Kid’s got this crazy beat straight out of the Nintendays. Journey across the treacherous lands of Hyrule in this one.

• Unicorn Kid – Wild Life (Nu:Tone Remix)

Blow your mind with this final servings of DnB.

• Delta Heavy – Abort (Drumstep)

• Avicii & Sebastien Drum – My Feelings For You (The Prototypes Remix) √+

Hometown hero, Bassnectar, dropped the beat earlier this year on Nelly Furtado’s “Magical World”. Huge bass with a hauntingly grimy sound.

• Bassnectar – Magical World feat. Nelly Furtado √+

Hadouken! just cooked this dubby beat not too long ago. Gemini’s remix adds a great new flavor to it.

• Hadouken! – Oxygen (Gemini Remix)

I listened to deadmau5’s new album, “4×4=12”, and its alright (it’s upped ☟below☟ btw). I just think it sounds tired. So, I threw on some older tracks and have been enjoying this one lately. Reminds me of his prog. house classic, “I Remember”.

• Marco DeMark – Tiny Dancer (Deadmau5 Vocal Mix) √+

Pendulum’s “The Island” got a great rework by an upcoming French teen, Madean, who, as VacayWave puts it, “has one of the most refreshing and infectious outlooks on electro-disco-pop that I have experienced in a while”. Electro-Disco-Dub-Pop-Whatever, it’s catchy and ends on a sweet wobble! I feel it should also get the cheese award for its lyrics.

• Pendulum – The Island (Madeon Remix) √ Δ

I’ve got another glitchy piece here full of slaps and breaks… I dunno where to classify this, haha. But it’s by Star Slinger, remixed by none other than the Cocteau Twins. It has a sort of transcendental feel to it that sounds great on any setup! Get the rest of Star Slinger’s work/remixes free on his website! Enjoy – Thanks :DH

• Star Slinger – Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins Rework) √+

Pitchfork is a great site to find new, independent music through. I came across this one the other week and thought its dreamy sound would pair well with the previous song!

• The New Division – Starfield

The party is almost over. Before you depart, maybe you could help me clean up and we can bump deadmau5’s new album? But all jokes aside, I feel like this one has a bland sound to it. As SOFI lyrically states it in her guest track, “it’s all the same thing”, and all the best tracks on it have already been out on Beatport for months while the rest are simply canned filler electro. It’s cool I but I feel like this Joel fella needs to stop producing these comparatively uninspired beats that he’s semi-debuted as soundtracks to his cat’s Youtube videos (lookin’ at you Meowingtons…). Also, dubstep is not his calling… I like the good old days (as everyone else seems to) of “Faxing Berlin”, “Hi Friend”, and of course “Ghosts N Stuff” (I know there’s a hundred other great songs to list, I prefer the more heavy electro work he’s done with Melleefresh, but I’ll list these songs – for generalization’s sake). This is still a great CD, I guess I was just anticipating a new song we haven’t already heard to debut with the CD’s release that aren’t as forgetable. *(Re-upped 5/6/11)

Deadmau5 – 4×4=12 (Full CD) [180MB] √+

♪ ♩ ♫ ♬ Party’s over.

Feed Off My Stimuli

First up, I present you a BIG track found only in your wildest dreams! Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner teamed up on this piece. Their sound has long been said to resemble one another’s so it only makes sense for them to bring you “Animal Rights”. (I was holding off from posting this as credit goes to NaveeDJ for showing it to me prior to Beatports’ newsletter, but there are connection problems on his end and I didn’t want to keep a tasty bit like this from y’all!)

Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner – Animal Rights (Original Mix) √++

This track is a bit dated (circa 04/2010…years in blog terms) but every time I listen to it, I get a heightened sense of enjoyment out of it’s electro, dutch house style!

• Stafford Brothers ft. Seany B – Speaker Freakers (LA Riots Remix)

Speaking of Dutch house, Afrojack dropped his newest beat, “Take Over Control” with an awesome (off-key) dubstep remix by Adam F. This song is sex.

• Afrojack ft. Eva Simons – Take Over Control (Adam F Dubstep Remix) √++

We’ve been showing a lot of love to Valerna on here and for good reason. I’ve really enjoyed this bubbly electro remix of Juelz Santana’s “Clockwork” by Valerna (bumpin beyond my laptop speakers no doubt).

• Juelz Santana – Clockwork (Valerna Remix)

Mika’s “Relax” gets sort of a dark touch up by Nystrand; tight dubby beat.

• Mika – Relax (Nystrand Electro Remix)

So, remember the 90’s? That time when music had a feeling of canned fun. Well to reminisce, here’s a cheesy amazing remix of Spin Doctors’ “Two Princes”. If you for some reason don’t smile to this, you are made of stone. Get excited! (I even made a new rating for it – The Cheese Award!)

Topmodelz – Two Princes (Paramond Remix)

And finally, get your party started with this fine electro banger by Feed Me (brought to you by NaveeDJ).

• Feed Me – The Spell √++

Musical Seduction

Alright so Skrillex has me freakin’ out lately over whether I should pay my bills or go see him live at the Abstract Festival this upcoming weekend! I hear he’s amazing live and, of course, tears it up on my speakers at home. Here are some awesome remixes he’s let loose over the past year that I’ve been nodding nonstop to. The Snoop Dogg remix is just too awesome for words! However, I cannot find it, for the life of me, anywhere in higher quality than mother fucking 96kbps, so the download below is gonna sound a bit muddy but the rest are on spot with standard dubPhonics audio quality. Enjoy!!!

Snoop Dogg – Sexual Seduction (Skrillex Remix) √++ *96kbps

Skrillex – My Name Is Skrillex (Skrillex Remix)

The All-American Rejects – The Wind Blows (Skrillex Remix) √++

Skrillex – Slats Slats Slats

Going back to Valerna, I present to you an awesome Busta Rhymes mix with a big sound (I know, I’m just as surprised as you are).

Busta Rhymes – Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See (Valerna Remix)

Continuing on with some more hip-hop/rap, I heard this mix a couple weeks back and thought it fit the site as it’s mixing Morgan Page’s “The Longest Road (feat. Lissie) [Deadmau5 Dub]” (or one of the Deadmau5 remixes of that song, I have like 10…). The vocals add a great new dimension to the familiar beat.

Birdman Ft. Jay Sean – Written On Her (Main) √++

Birdman Ft. Jay Sean – Written On Her (Instrumental)

I know it’s not a new track, but as fellow dP author NaveeDJ says, “classics will be classics”. Melleefresh and Deadmau5 have an awesome collab on Deadmau5’s “At Play CD” that encases a bunch of crazy beats. Get ready for some heavy electro house grinds – ridiculous lyrics!

Melleefresh & Deadmau5 – Afterhours (Original Mix) √++

Switching back to a bit more funky-styles, thought I’d share a great remix of Hey Champ’s “Neverest”.

Hey Champ – Neverest (Raw Man Remix)

Bit Funk came on scene earlier this year with some original work of theirs, really cool electro-disco beats!

Bit Funk – Things I Can’t Remember

Bit Funk – Love Scientific

Bit Funk – A Question For You (…do you like to dance?)

Finally, NaveeDJ showed me this first track and I got all excited cause it mixes in an OLD favorite (below)!

Federico Scavo – Let’s All Chant (Manuel De La Mare & Marshall Remix)

Buy Now – Body Crash (JFK Edit)

America’s Birthday Edition

Happy 4th of July!

Kelis – 4th Of July (Fireworks) (Calvin Harris Remix)

Some dubstep mixes by Diplo and Hervé, very slick

Sunday Girl – Diplo Vs. Sunday Girl – Four Floors √++

The Temper Trap – The Science Of Fear (Unreleased Hervé Dub Mix)

Relaxing pace (great drum ‘n bass mix of The XX, drops the Supermode – Tell Me Why beat @ 4:16)

• The XX – Infinity (Bachelors Of Science Remix) √++

• Apparat – Komponent (Telefon Tel Aviv Remix) (unwind)

Heavy beat, very sick. Rock it~

• Melleefresh vs. Deadmau5 Cocktail Queen (Original Mix) √++

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s new dance floor electro/dance-pop smash

Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Bittersweet (Freemasons Club Remix) (vocals pick up @ 2:45)

“I can’t get enough” – cool hook, amorous vocals

The Sneekers – Sexy Disco (Radio Edit)

Maurizio Gubellini’s heavier take on “Shy Boy”

Spencer & Hill – Shy Boy (Maurizio Gubellini Remix)

Picking up the previous post, here’s a progressive /tribal remix of “Cities In Dust”

Junkie XL – Cities In Dust (Gareth Wyn Mix)

I really liked where this mix was going but I feel it’s missing the drop…still a great piece

Kaskade – Dynasty (Dada Life Remix)

Katy Perry should’ve just released this MSTRKRFT mix over the original

Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg – California Gurls (MSTRKRFT Remix)

An anthem to play us out

Mark Ronson and The Business INTL – Bang Bang Bang (Count and Sinden Tribal Horn Remix)
