Prog./House/Electro House

This track is a club banger, though a bit repetitive, the greatness peaks at (3:04)

Axwell feat. Errol Reid – Nothing But Love (Axwell vs. Daddy’s Groove Remix)

Erics Prydz under his Pryda Label recently released Niton and Vega, maintaining his unique style.

Pryda – Niton (Original Mix)

(mix in at the club at 5:10 and the club goes…)

Pryda – Vega (Original Mix)

Before I continue, I MUST enlighten you guys on one of the oldest and most recognized DJs across the globe, Bad Boy Bill.

I had the opportunity to see him spin the other night in what’s said to be the best night of the year at SF’s own Ruby Skye Club. With that said, let me show you how this DMC Competitor broke into the electro scene and now is the co-founder of the worlds #1 Mp3 download site for DJs, Beatport.

Bad Boy Bill at the DMC DJ Battle 1989 (year I was born…)

His NOT surprising progress into the House/Electro world.

Bad Boy Bill – Do What U Like (Bad Boy Bill’s Push The Feeling Remix) (drop @ 1:30)

Bad Boy Bill feat. Alyssa Palmer – Falling Anthem (Herve’s We Are A Beautiful Disaster Remix) (drop @ 1:57)

Now that I’m on the electro house hype, here’s one that perfectly exemplifies how to use a classic in modern electro:

…New Single from Franky Tunes under Tiger Records

Franky Tunes – Catch (Twice Nice Electro Remix)

Though I could be here all day I’m gonna take a break and put up some new beats tonight or tommorow so check back soon!

America’s Birthday Edition

Happy 4th of July!

Kelis – 4th Of July (Fireworks) (Calvin Harris Remix)

Some dubstep mixes by Diplo and Hervé, very slick

Sunday Girl – Diplo Vs. Sunday Girl – Four Floors √++

The Temper Trap – The Science Of Fear (Unreleased Hervé Dub Mix)

Relaxing pace (great drum ‘n bass mix of The XX, drops the Supermode – Tell Me Why beat @ 4:16)

• The XX – Infinity (Bachelors Of Science Remix) √++

• Apparat – Komponent (Telefon Tel Aviv Remix) (unwind)

Heavy beat, very sick. Rock it~

• Melleefresh vs. Deadmau5 Cocktail Queen (Original Mix) √++

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s new dance floor electro/dance-pop smash

Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Bittersweet (Freemasons Club Remix) (vocals pick up @ 2:45)

“I can’t get enough” – cool hook, amorous vocals

The Sneekers – Sexy Disco (Radio Edit)

Maurizio Gubellini’s heavier take on “Shy Boy”

Spencer & Hill – Shy Boy (Maurizio Gubellini Remix)

Picking up the previous post, here’s a progressive /tribal remix of “Cities In Dust”

Junkie XL – Cities In Dust (Gareth Wyn Mix)

I really liked where this mix was going but I feel it’s missing the drop…still a great piece

Kaskade – Dynasty (Dada Life Remix)

Katy Perry should’ve just released this MSTRKRFT mix over the original

Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg – California Gurls (MSTRKRFT Remix)

An anthem to play us out

Mark Ronson and The Business INTL – Bang Bang Bang (Count and Sinden Tribal Horn Remix)

I Like the Groove, but I Digress

Ratatat had a leak on their promo CD pretty early, it’s more of the same in the best way! Look out for its official release June 8th.

• Ratatat – LP4 (Full CD) [100MB]

Some amazing dubstep pieces I can’t get enough of.

Blue Foundation – Eyes On Fire (Zeds Dead Remix) (Awesome dub @ 4:13!)

Deadmau5 – Faxing Berlin (Grifta Dubstep Remix) √++

New bangin’ electro house track from bigs, Tiësto and Diplo!

Tiësto feat. Diplo – C’mon (Original Mix) √++

Hip-hop and rap, one’s an speedy poppin’ beat the other a dark underground street beat/grind.

• Felguk – 2Nite feat. Sporty-O (Original Mix)

Notorious B.I.G. – Suicidal Thoughts (Lorn Remix)

Louis La Roché back with some new lighthearted tracks and remixes, amped up and breaking out and away from his quintessential French house sound that I’ve grown used to hearing

Louis La Roché – Malfunction (Original Mix) √++

• Basement Jaxx – Raindrops (Louis La Roché Rework)

Always something new with Crystal Castles, too much to keep up with really but these two sorta stuck out.

Crystal Castles – Trash Hologram (Zelenka Remix)

Crystal Castles – Trash Hologram (Zelenka Dark Dub)

I found this song while hunting for Mt. Eden Dubstep’s remix of it, kindof a nice Morgan Page-esc bump to it.

• Delerium feat. Sarah McLahlan – Silence (Niels Van Gogh and Thomas Gold Remix)

Just some extras in the playlist. Heard the first song in the Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 Official Trailer (which looks amazing)…”but I digress”

Anhken – Green Line (Ronski Speed Remix)

BSOD – This Is The Hook (Original Mix)

Larry Tee & Princess Superstar – Licky (Hervé Radio Edit) √++

A video for a great song I stumbled upon but can’t find a HQ download (other than Youtube ripping)

Break Scheme – No Matter (Liquid Dubstep) *128kbps

Drop Down

I haven’t posted much filthy dubstep on here, but this song starts with a really enchanted tribal sound then drops into a filthy dubby beat @ 1:50. Both parts are excellent.

• Modestep – Exile √++

…and some follow up dirty dubstep from Rusko.

Rusko – Hold On ft. Amber Coffman (Sub Focus Remix) √++ (crazy grind/wobble)

Going back to the 90’s with this track, Wiley spits over White Town’s “Your Woman” while Hervé drops a nice grimy downtempo beat to pull it all together.

• Wiley – Never Be Your Woman (feat. Emeli Sande) [Hervé Rework] √++

Deadmau5 is back with a new progressive house track with a similar sound to his other hit “Moar Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff“.

Deadmau5 – Some Chords (Original Mix)

I meant to press this one a while back. Designer Drugs brings us another “ambitious club banger” with an interesting video to match (perfectly), plus they’re playing at UCSD’s Sun God Festival!

Designer Drugs – Drop Down (heavy)

I came across this the other night – always diggin’ on CLASSIXX. Treasure Fingers add a bit more rat-tat-tat to the remix and a touch of jazz piano in the background.

CLASSIXX – I’ll Get You (Treasure Fingers Remix)

This next track is one of Calvin Harris’ more recent singles (although it’s nothing new in blog time). It has a nice deep bass line and a catchy chorus but it can get a little repetitive after a while. Nero provides a more calm approach while Laidback Luke’s mix is a bit more synth intensive.

Calvin Harris – You Used To Hold Me

Calvin Harris – You Used To Hold Me (Laidback Luke Remix)

Calvin Harris – You Used To Hold Me (Nero Remix)

Some cool drum ‘n’ bass trance.

BT – Godspeed (Hybrid Remix)

Brooklyn based Chimp Beams is an downtempo, electronic dub trio formed in 2001 by three Japanese men. It’s a rather dreamy CD, the first half is pretty solid while the rest becomes very downtempo/ambient, almost too much. Their music is a mixture of dub, breakbeats, jazz, and techno (you try classifying it!).

CD Highlights: “Menina”, “Brooklyn Dub”, and “Sleeptalking”

Chimp Beams – Menina (Full CD) [93MB]
