We Are the Empire

Australia’s own Empire Of The Sun is another amazing electronic duo that formed in 2007. The Sydney based group is composed of Luke Steele of The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of Pnau. Their synthed out, electro-pop sound is familiar to (recommended) neighboring Australian bands Cut Copy and MGMT with a twist of Fleetwood Mac and nasally vocals. EOTS is surely an attention-grabber, taking the risk of dressing up for live performances in gowns and makeup, similar to that of David Bowie and Iggy Pop – but look what happened for them. When asked about their flamboyant act, they simply replied, “We are superheroes. We are Emperor Steele and Lord Littlemore.” Makes sense, I guess… So here is their full “Walking On A Dream” album and a few select songs off their new album and, of course, a handful of remixes to keep them fresh!
