The Dubbiest Of Cocktails

It’s been a while since I’ve brought you all an update on one of my favorite dubstep artists, MiM0SA. First off, this guy’s individual remixes are the hardest things to find! Preview all you want on his Soundcloud page but don’t expect to find anything online above a 128kbps YouTube rip. Shame, cause I love his work and I’m a greedy person in my quests for music! He’s on tour right now and after watching him play at Coachella 2010 on the Do Lab Stage, there’s no possibility of me missing him when he passes through here in San Diego. His music reminds me a lot of a Pretty Lights equivalent in the dubstep genre. The Silver Lining CD brings an itchy sounding dub that flows well with the dreamy/shimmering beats that will help put you at ease. The following CD, Your Love, is, simply put, more of the same (“Your Love” has been poppin’ up a lot in my playlists). Some seriously chilled out dubstep here everyone. Enjoy!

This is easily one of my favorite remixes/songs of his. I finally found it for sale on his bandcamp page, bought it in FLAC, and converted it to 320 – although it’s still showing up as a low quality recording (~192) oh well :T

Janelle vs. Johnny

This progressive house piece has been a top play for me lately. I really dig the grungy guitar pick up @ 1:15, it’s quite nice!

Another typical, somewhat epic/dramatic, Benny Benassi remix (always a fan of his).

• Tiësto & Sneaky Sound System – I Will Be Here (Benny Benassi Dub)

Here’s a static, lazy dub remix of La Roux’s “I’m Not You Toy” (finally a remix of a track besides “In For The Kill” and “Bulletproof”) I swear I hear frogs @ 2:43, but I’m also wearing headphones…

This song is well titled, it’s got a good grind – sounds a lot like Justice, IMO.

• Wolfgang Gartner – Undertaker (Original Mix) √++

Alex Metric recently remixed the new Gorillaz track, “Stylo,” to what I thought was better than the original. He’s mixed a lot of disco-funk into these next tracks.

However, his original work has a back-to-basics electronic sound.

Okay, so I’m a little embarrassed to post Eiffel 65 (90’s flashback!), but I like this remix. The choppy piano riffs really make it (for me at least).

The piano is like my ultimate weakness in music. This song is really peaceful in kind of a sad way, it’s one of my favorites
